This arrangement really works a treat! The melody is given to the first flute doubled in places by the piccolo. The accompaniment is mainly chordal with some counter-melodies for the 2nd and alto flutes. From a learning point of view this is a great exercise in balance and tuning as well as coping with the six flat ending, but it's so lovely, no-one will care!
