“Atmospheric music for four flutes”
This is a strangely haunting and emotionally engaging piece of music that weaves its spell very simply. There is a stillness here conveyed by gentle rhythms and slowly moving lines which meander through an ever-changing harmonic landscape. The total effect is very unsettling, drawing you in to the 'exploration of the interplay of tensions from the point of view of innocents engulfed by conflict'. A talking point in a recital programme certainly!
Fragile Peace by Australian composer Fran Griffin was composed Fragile Peace as an exploration of the interplay of tensions from the point of view of innocents engulfed by conflict.
