This is a particularly good flute quartet and another where the initial high outlay is more than balanced by it's potential use over many years. You can perform this with only three flutes making it even more versatile, although the fourth part is not any easier than the others. 'Flutes on Holiday' is a wonderful concept and each of the four movements strives to capture a mood. Flutes Pastorales is calm with energetic splashes, Flutes Joyeause zips along happily, Flute Reveuses floats timelessly away and Flutes Legeres has an esoteric waltz sandwiched between a spirited Allegretto. Well worth the money!
