Flute Fiesta is a cheerful piece which has a distinctly Spanish feel. A solid bass line allows the other parts to fully explore the strong rhythms with the piccolo taking centre stage throughout. The use of castanets would be a great bonus in adding extra colour. It's all just so much fun!
Commissioned for the 2007 NFA convention in Albuquerque, this piece is a Spanish march or pasodoble. Its flair makes it well-suited for an opening or closing piece on a program.
