This is a delightful concerto! Written in the sunny key of D major, it bubbles along joyfully. The two outer movements intersperse lyrical writing with some challenging passagework and the A major slow movement is wonderfully tuneful. The cadenzas are by Gaby Pas-Van Riet who has editied the manuscript very intelligently. This piece would be really good to try before tackling Mozart.
