In 1990, I left Ramsgate at the helm of a boat in a force 5-6 to accompany the little ships sailing across the channel for the 50th anniversary of the Dunkirk rescue mission. This is a tribute to the courageous men who also went over in a force 5-6 in June 1940 during World War 2.
This piece evokes the feelings I had while at the helm of a boat accompanying the Little Ships of Dunkirk across the channel on the 50th anniversary in 1990.
