This is an unusual playalong in that the music is original and very good. Although light jazz in nature there is enough grit here to lift this book above the norm. The material ranges from lyrical to rhythmic and the harmonies have some bite to them. Each solo is written to address a specific challenge, so that the student is gently stretched either by key, rhythm or melodic line. It would also make good sightreading material for the more advanced.
