This substantial piece is a very interesting reconstruction of a missing manuscript. The primary source is the orchestral work of the same name but this piece works very well as chamber music. All the parts are well written and the instruments are used carefully to ensure that there is no sense of this being a cut-down version of the original. Sibelius survives totally intact and this is a valuable addition to the repertoire for this unusual combination.
