taken from the introduction:
'The two parts of 'Fluten Lust-Hof' (Flute's Pleasure Garden) contain mainly variations on psalm, folk and dance tunes, as well as some free improvisations (fantasies and preludes). Our edition is a selection from the original which runs to approximately 150 pieces and which lacks of any marks of interpretation. We have indicated suggestions of phrasing and ornamentation which the performer can complement with his own. Tongued playing predominated in the 17th century, encompassing every shading from portato to staccato.
Some obvious misprints in the original have been corrected and a few missing accidentals added.' Hans-Martin Linde
