Bartok's Rumanian Dances never fail to please and this arrangement for seven flutes certainly captures the flavour of the original. It was written especially for the young flute players at the music festival in Cremona so there is a simplicity about the arrangement. The main themes in each movement are given to one or two of the upper parts rather than passed around the whole ensemble. This is perfect for inexperienced low flute players and makes it relatively easy to put together quickly which is always valuable. An investment purchase.
