From the Publisher
A familiar work by Camille Saint-Saëns cleverly arranged by Angeleita Floyd. Scored for piccolo(s), 3 to 6 C flutes, alto flute(s), bass flute(s), string bass (or contrabass flute), and percussion. Many parts are divisi, expanding the choir for a fuller sound. An excellent addition to the flute choir repertoire.
Note on the Instrumentation:
- Piccolo: 2 parts for 2 players
- Flute 1: divisi for 3 players with a strong 'solo' part
- Flute 2: divisi for 2 players
- Flute 3 divisi for 2 players
- Alto flute: divisi for 2 players
- Bass flute: divisi for 2 players
- String bass 1 player
- Percussion - 2 players to cover triangle, cymbals, bassdrum, xylophone, and timpanin in G and D
