This difficult piece is based on Thumbelina by Hans Christian Andersen. Stankovych tries to recapture the child-like world of the fairy tale here - there are plenty of skipping runs and rhythms to drive the music onwards. The piece is subtitled 'Quasi Sonata No 2', indicating that it has plenty of substance. Worth a look if you want something different.
