The vastness of our cosmos inspired this composition. Meteors zipping sporadically through the skies might be depicted by a brisk tempo, meter changes, flutter tonguing, staccatos, and accents along with rhythms from a frame drum.
Then there is the ethereal concept of floating in space where weightlessness is the only guaranteed sensation, as expressed through the mysterious harmonics of a singing bowl during the slower middle section. (If a singing bowl is not available, a handbell with a dowel circling the rim can be quite effective.) Fashioned to transport listeners via their imaginations to the limits of their horizons, this piece offers dramatic dimensions beyond the usual land of the flute choir.
This piece is about 3 minutes in length. it is guaranteed to bring smiles to audiences of all ages and joy to performers.
