The Expandable Form
This arrangement is extremely versatile in any flute choir as it is written in the 'expandable' form. A quartet of one piccolo and three C flutes will work successfully using the first four parts. As the other instruments are added or become available, they are used to expand the harmonic structure and/or introduce new counter melodies.
