There are many good arrangements of works by JS Bach and this is one of the best. More difficult than usual in this genre, the chaconne theme is subjected to a great amount of variation, some of it very fragmentary. This results in a challenge of ensemble playing that is taxing but also extremely rewarding. Expensive but very worthwhile!
Ciaccona, the fifth and last movement of the Second Partita in D minor, BWV 1004 for violin solo by Johann Sebastian Bach, is in this arrangement scored for three concert flutes and one alto flute.
