Celtic Knotwork is a great piece for three flutes and this version by McGuire himself works very well too. The 'knotwork' sections where the lines intertwine round each other in an improvisatory style match the registers and colours of the the three insturments skillfully. The Slip Jigs are more structured and again restrict the ranges used to produce a tight-knit effect. This is a very evocative and unusal piece that would add an extra dimension to any wind concert. Highly recommended.
