“Great Scott Joplin!”
This is a very successful version of a Scott Joplin favourite that will be enjoyed by all members of the group. The skill in playing ragtime is to keep it slow so although the pages look very black the overall effect is quite laid-back. There is a pleasing rhythmic vitality here which underpins the whole piece. You will really need alto and bass flutes though - otherwise the texture could become a little muddy.
A terrific arrangement of the popular Joplin ragtime tune. A fun piece for any concert. Scored for 5 C flutes with optional alto and bass.
