"The piece entitled Burlesca all´Ongarese was written for András Adorján. The stimulus to compose this work goes back to the collaboration with this outstanding flutist who interprets my Concerto for Flute and Orchestra so magnificently. The Burlesa all´Ongarese, composed in 2006, develops out of brief, contrasting motifs between which motifs from works of Bartók are continually interspersed. The technically unusually demanding work combines high musical tempo with instrumental bravura. This composition is a virtuoso piece par excellence and confronts the interpreter with problems on many levels. The world premiere of the Burlesca all´Ongarese was given by András Adorján on 13 June 2008." - Krzysztof Meyer
