“Three piccolos?!”
If you thing that 3 piccolos is just too much of a good thing, perhaps you should think again. This very effective piece uses tango rhythms in the accompaniment over which the piccolos weave some surprising sonorities. Illustrating 'the normal daily life of birds' there is more Disney here than dissonance. You won't even have to warn the neighbours!
