Ave Maria is a fairly simple arrangement of the song popularly used at weddings. The alto and bass flute have a parallel part, splitting octaves on occasion so the piece can be performed without a bass flute. It adheres to the original key so that it can be sung with a soprano on the melody instead of having it played by flute one. This would be a good piece to put your weaker players on the melody to give them a chance to shine as flutes 4 and 5 have the more difficult running accompaniment.
