Quite often the realm of contemporary techniques coupled with eletronic backing can seem utterly out of reach to all but the really committed. Here is a piece that might change that. The most important aspect here is that it is easy to follow the score with the sound track. Secondly the flute techniques are pretty standard and very clearly explained in the performance notes. The result is a piece that is very atmospheric yet relatively straightforward to put together. Perfect for a first attempt at this genre.
'Anatole' is inspired by images of the East....The electronic part is made by electronically elaborated naturla sounds of the flute, voice and percussion. The pre-recorded flute material in the electronic background is selected from individual flute improvisations on musical modes of the eastern Mediterranean.
