Each of the four movements here is for a different number of players. Dance of the Lambs for flute solo has alternating time signatures, Village Stream for two players has a tune and a running accompaniment, the Shepherd's Pipe Trio is in 7/8 and Dance of the Kids is very fast and rhythmic. The Albanian feel to this music is very strong and vibrant. The format is unusual and the attraction of allowing different players to take the solo parts is appealing. Good concert material.
