Italian composer and clarinetist Ernesto Cavallini's (1807 1874) Adagio and Tarantella for clarinet and piano was first published in 1869. Here, it has been arranged for solo clarinet and clarinet choir by Matt Johnston. A dramatic opening leads to a sprightly tarantella, readily featuring the virtuosity of the solo clarinetist.
