William Bennett and Clifford Benson were musically inseparable and this tribute by Benson 'to Wibb, in admiration' is simply lovely. The style is an engaging mix of easy listening and a great understanding of how to write for the flute. The beautiful melody unfolds, develops and reaches a high point before ending almost wistfully. As Wibb might have said "it's a marvellous piece"!
