If you are a fan of the atmospheric ensemble music of the Solvenian composer Anze Rosman you will really appreciate this lovely piece. Not as difficult as Aqua and Ventus for example, it still delivers in terms of changing textures and sensitive voicing. The slower calm and nostalgic writing is full of exotic harmonies whilst the main 'teasingly' sections will test articulation to the max. This was a commission from the Solvenian Piccolo Festival so it's no surprise that this is almost a piccolo solo with accompaniment - but not quite! It's a lovely play and a great listen. Money well spent!
"A Lovely Story" was written for the 2nd European Piccolo Festival and was premiered in Jezersko, Slovenia in August of 2013.
