These adaptations of Bartok's violin duos work really well on the flute. It's a versatile book that punches above its weight in the teaching bag. All eighteen are short and technically undemanding which is great for sightreading. This is Bartok though, so there's plenty of scope for the discovering of a musical genre not usually open to players of this level. A small selection would really spice an ensemble concert too. You won't necessarily come away singing the melodies but you will certainly remember the experience of playing them!
This sheet music edition offers a selection of Bartók's famous "44 Duos (for two violins)" arranged for two flutes.
