“A really quirky book!”
This collection of 10 short pieces by Willy Hess keeps you guessing. Just when you think you have cracked the harmonic style, there is another strange chord to savour. All of the pieces are really well written though, lying in mostly in the low to middle registers, and all will help develop a strong alto flute technique. There are 2 actual studies for fingers and intervals, and the Theme and Variations also tests your skills around the instrument. However, the book is worth buying just for Impromptu and Panflote alone as these two are simply beautiful.
