“Amazing flute!”There is no flute like a Sankyo flute. I have a 301 and an Etude 201 (which I bought from Just Flutes)
Both are exceptional in sound and mechanism. The quality of the craftsmanship is superb.
The 301 has the most wonderful rich sound in all registers and can be played as hard as you like with no "smashing" of notes.
I originally wanted an Altus, Miyazawa or Yamaha but when I played the Sankyo I was shocked by how much more beautiful it was than those other flutes. They were so mediocre in comparison.
The mechanism is silent and smooth also - another great reason to try this flute. I've given my 301 serious hammer for a year and I've yet to discover any 'cons'. It's a superstar!
I personally would not waste my money on any other make of flute now that I've heard the difference.
