“Nice two stave version of the Canonic Sonatas by Telemann”My teacher had asked me to start to study some of these duet's to help my ensemble playing. The original version she showed me had a single stave of music with the 2nd flute starting 2 bars after the first as per canon style. However these were difficult to read and work out where we were getting out of step due to timing issues.
This version solves this by having the 2nd flute on a different stave and also gives amateur players the opportunity to read down the page and be aware of where the 2nd flute is playing in relation to their own stave line.
The accompanying CD is also useful for practice and although only a full duet and 1st flute track is included for each piece I guess you could use the 1st flute track as a 2nd due to the canonic nature of the sonatas.
A nice version for a good price and as usual prompt delivery from Just Flutes.
