“Lovely lyrical piece”This is a beautiful lyrical piece, with an opportunity for the flute to soar in the middle part. The flute part develops continuously and needs the harmonies in the piano part to 'anchor' it. Students enjoy playing the piece with the piano, but can find it harder make sense of and shape the tune when playing without the accompaniment. Piano part of moderate difficulty but quite awkward to play in places. 5 stars for the piece, 3 or 4 as an exam choice for teenage students.
